Full-bodied with firm tannins, the wine is voluptuous and formidable at the same time. Our experts love the richness of the red fruit and chocolate notes, but the real complexity comes with the subtle hints of cracked black pepper and spice. Zinfandel is common here, making deeply fruity and tantalizingly smoky wines, often from old vines.
