Our sophisticated yet approachable Pinot Noir has received many prestigious awards from an array of wine competitions — these honors include three 90+ point scores and four Gold Medals. This decorated wine hails from the warm Mediterranean climate of Southern France. Overall, this region offers high temperatures, little rainfall, and mild winters, which allow for a long growing season. With some vines dating back 40 years, the area also contains an array of micro-climates ranging from cooler inland sites found amongst the mountain foothills to hotter regions within the coastal plain. Calm afternoon winds create perfect conditions to propagate fruit that benefits from both hot and cool climatic influences. Pays d'Oc covers non-AOC wines made across this large, sun-kissed region, known as France's "New World." Far from the regulations of the AOC system, pioneering winemakers headed here to experiment, crafting many now-famous wines that often state their grape variety on the label—not something that was common in France before then. IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) within France’s wine classification system focuses on controlling regional and geographical origin.
