Syrah

THIS JUST IN: Our Postal Stone Syrah was awarded the South African Syrah of the Year at the 2023 New York International Wine Competition!

Our Postal Stone Syrah is dark and decadent with rich black forest fruit and spice notes. Since South Africa's first grapevines were planted in the 1600s, Syrah has become the country's second-leading red grape variety. The Benguela Current flows upwards along the Western Cape, transporting icy waters from Antarctica. This powerful current plays a vital role in South Africa's wine history and climate. TASTING NOTES:

Mulberry

Blackberry

Baking Spice

Layering, nuance and complexity define our Syrah. On the nose, peppery aromas join brooding dark berry fruit. The palate is full-bodied with elegant tannins that complement notes of mulberry, blackcurrant and cassis. The wine makes a delicious partner to braised meats, roasted vegetables and smoky barbecue sauces.
