ABOUT THIS WINE:

Ruskin Ridge

Ruskin Ridge

Zinfandel

Our Zinfandel is a stunning illustration of Sonoma County’s ideal climate. Ruskin Ridge has once again created an expressive, terroir-driven wine by allowing each factor to be shaped by its environment. Plush body, lively spice, and jammy fruit flavors define the profile of this hallmark style. During summer, a cool morning fog rolls over the hills of Sonoma from the Pacific Ocean, allowing chilly nighttime temperatures to linger in the vineyard. As the sun continues to rise, it rids the vineyards of the fog, and by mid-morning the grapes are enveloped in the sun’s warm rays. These abbreviated hours of sun are not enough for some varietals to ripen fully, so winemakers have planted some vineyards above the fog line along the ridges where access to sunlight is plentiful. The combination of grapes from these sites results in balanced wines with structured tannins and sweet fruit flavors ...

WINE REGION:

Outline of Sonoma County

Sonoma County

Many of California's world-class wines come from Sonoma County, separated from Napa by the Mayacamas Mountains. Three times the size of Napa, Sonoma is an incredibly diverse region. Cool coastal zones, fog-cloaked hillsides, sheltered valleys and craggy exposed peaks give Sonoma a vast array of terroirs and microclimates. Its many sub-regions produce a broad range of styles: from the bold Cabernets of Alexander Valley to the fragrant Pinots of Sonoma Coast and the sublime Chardonnays of Chalk Hill.

TASTING NOTES:

Fruit Preserves

Baking Spice

Mulberry

You’ll pick up some baking spice on the nose while the palate remains intensely fruit forward. True to a classic California style, our Zinfandel offers concentrated flavors of preserved fruit and mulberry pie. The acidity remains subtle, while firm tannins provide a solid backbone for pairing with your favorite protein-rich dishes.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

Ruskin Ridge

Victorian-era writer and art critic John Ruskin was well known for his literary talents. In addition to his writing, the pages of his notebooks often included detailed sketches and paintings of local landscapes and native flora and fauna. Ruskin believed an artist's duty was to stay true to nature. His literature emphasized the romantic connection between nature, art, and society. It is this ideology that fuels the passion behind Ruskin Ridge. Each of our wines is a pure expression of its region's terroir, with every sip firmly grounded in the truth of nature.
