ABOUT THIS WINE:

Wyethia Flame

Wyethia Flame

White Blend

California is a wonderful place to grow grapes for all different types of wines. The sun exposure and warm temperatures allow for optimal development of the fruit with heightened sweetness to balance out acidity. In the Wyetha Flame White Wine Blend there are floral layers that unfold as you drink, the notes playing off of the creamy palate and sweeter profile. The lush floral intensity is perfect for pairing with rich seafood and creamy cheeses. That being said, the bold floral notes on the Wyetha Flame make it a great wine to drink on its own as well. Enjoy it your favorite way to drink a white wine! Judges love it too! It took home silver at the 2018 Harvest Challenge.

WINE REGION:

Outline of California

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

Wyethia Flame

Wyethia Flame is rooted in the history and terroir of Lodi, California. The Wyethia flower shares this region's picturesque landscape with its state flower, the poppy, blooming in the sunny vales and floodplains between gently rolling hills. The "flame" refers to the traditional cultivation of Flame Tokay grapes introduced to the region in the 1900s, which for years supported Lodi's agricultural industry and were a common sight in nearly all its vineyards. Nowadays, this forgotten grape only exists in far-away corners of the region, replaced by European varieties better suited for winemaking. Our wines epitomize Lodi's terroir by respecting the rich history of native flora and cultivated crops, which helped shape the flourishing wine region it is known as today.
